New York Child Resource Center in Brooklyn
Whether a family has questions about speech and language, movement, learning, social interaction, autism, or other areas of development, our licensed and certified professionals are here to help through center-based and home-based services available through New York’s Early Intervention Program.
Early Intervention Services at Our Brooklyn Center
Our Brooklyn location offers evaluations, service coordination, ABA programming, and related developmental services for eligible children from birth to age three. All services are based on each child’s evaluation, eligibility, and the services authorized through the Individualized Family Service Plan process.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Our ABA program is designed for young learners on the autism spectrum, with each child receiving individualized programming based on their developmental needs and learning style. Programs are developed and adjusted by certified special education teachers using ongoing data collection and progress monitoring.
The program was developed in conjunction with Rutgers University’s Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, drawing on Early Intervention best practices for serving children on the autism spectrum.
ABA Group
Our Enhanced ABA groups meet five days per week in two-hour sessions, each led by a certified special educator. Children work one-to-one with a trained teacher’s assistant at their own cubby on programs designed around their individual developmental goals.
Generalization Group
The Generalization Group pairs young autistic learners with same-age typically developing peers for structured classroom activities including art, sensory play, gross motor activities, seasonal projects, and music. These two-hour sessions run before or after ABA group time, giving children the chance to practice skills from their ABA programming in real social situations with peer models.
