Early Intervention Services at Our Brooklyn Center

Our Brooklyn location offers evaluations, service coordination, ABA programming, and related developmental services for eligible children from birth to age three. All services are based on each child’s evaluation, eligibility, and the services authorized through the Individualized Family Service Plan process.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Our ABA program is designed for young learners on the autism spectrum, with each child receiving individualized programming based on their developmental needs and learning style. Programs are developed and adjusted by certified special education teachers using ongoing data collection and progress monitoring.

The program was developed in conjunction with Rutgers University’s Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, drawing on Early Intervention best practices for serving children on the autism spectrum.

ABA Group

Our Enhanced ABA groups meet five days per week in two-hour sessions, each led by a certified special educator. Children work one-to-one with a trained teacher’s assistant at their own cubby on programs designed around their individual developmental goals.

Generalization Group

The Generalization Group pairs young autistic learners with same-age typically developing peers for structured classroom activities including art, sensory play, gross motor activities, seasonal projects, and music. These two-hour sessions run before or after ABA group time, giving children the chance to practice skills from their ABA programming in real social situations with peer models.

Related Developmental Services

From initial evaluation through IFSP development and ongoing monitoring of authorized services, service coordination helps families stay informed and connected to the supports their child is receiving.

The Early Intervention Program is a public program funded by New York State and county governments for infants and toddlers under three years of age who have or are suspected of having a developmental delay or disability. If you have concerns about your child's development, you can contact the NYC Early Intervention Program by calling 311 to make a referral.

New York Child Resource Center, Inc. is approved by New York State and has a contract with New York City to provide Early Intervention services. Eligibility for the Early Intervention Program can be determined only by State-approved evaluators under contract with the municipality. If a child is found eligible, needed services are identified in collaboration with the parent and must be authorized by the municipality. The municipality arranges for service providers based on the individual needs of the child and family.

Services authorized through the Early Intervention Program are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to families, though health insurance may be accessed for reimbursement. When Early Intervention services are delivered in child care or community settings that require a fee, the parent is responsible for any associated costs with access to those settings.
