Early Intervention Services at Our Brooklyn Center
Our Brooklyn location offers service coordination, evaluations, center-based group services, home-based services, ABA programming, and related developmental services for eligible children from birth to age three. All services are based on each child’s evaluation, eligibility, and the services authorized through the Individualized Family Service Plan process.
Center-Based Services
New York Child Resource Center, Inc. provides center-based Early Intervention services at our Brooklyn location, including ABA Group, Speech Group, and Sensory/Motor Occupational Therapy Group. Each group is 90 minutes, includes no more than 10 children, and each child is supported by a 1:1 aide.
ABA Group
The ABA Group is a 90-minute center-based group led by a NYS-certified Special Education Early Childhood Birth-2nd Grade teacher. The ABA Group meets five days per week and supports young learners on the autism spectrum.
Programs are individually written by certified special education teachers and adjusted based on each child’s progress and collected data. Services are based on each child’s evaluation, eligibility, and the services authorized through the Individualized Family Service Plan process.
Speech Group
The Speech Group is a 90-minute center-based group led by a NYS-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Speech Group may be provided two, three, four, or five times per week, as mandated on the child’s IFSP.
Speech Group supports children’s communication development based on their evaluated needs and authorized services.
Sensory/Motor Occupational Therapy Group
The Sensory/Motor Occupational Therapy Group is a 90-minute center-based group led by a NYS-licensed Occupational Therapist. Sensory/Motor Occupational Therapy Group may be provided two, three, four, or five times per week, as mandated on the child’s IFSP.
Sensory/Motor Occupational Therapy Group supports developmental skills involved in play, learning, daily routines, movement, sensory processing, and interaction.
Home-Based Services
New York Child Resource Center, Inc. provides home-based services in the home or community, including the child’s daycare center. Home-based services include ABA, Special Instruction, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work, and Family Training.
These services are individualized based on each child’s evaluated needs and the services authorized through the IFSP process.
Service Coordination
Children start with a service coordinator, also known as a case manager, who guides the family through the evaluation process. New York Child Resource Center, Inc. offers both initial and ongoing service coordination services in English and Spanish.
Service coordinators help guide families through the Early Intervention process, from evaluation through the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan. Ongoing service coordination also helps families monitor that authorized services are being provided as listed in the child’s IFSP.
Evaluations
Home and center-based evaluations are available through our Brooklyn location. Evaluations are conducted by licensed and certified professionals and help determine whether a child meets eligibility criteria for Early Intervention services. There is no out-of-pocket cost to families for evaluations, and authorized services for children found eligible are also provided at no out-of-pocket cost.
